ABOUT OUR CLUB

We are a long established and friendly club, welcoming archers of all levels come together to learn, improve, and enjoy the sport of archery.

Whether you're picking up a bow for the very first time or working toward your next Archery GB classification, Black Stag Archers is the perfect place to join and improve your skills. We pride ourselves on a fostering a supportive environment that helps archers along their archery journey.

We are an outdoor archery club, and our field has a range distance of up to 100 yards, so there's plenty of room to find your mark!

We shoot every Saturday morning from around 10am. Our field is very conveniently located at 437 Wanstead Park Road, which is a short walk from Redbridge tube station and, if driving, not far from the Redbridge junction of the North Circular Road and the A12.

We are affiliated to Essex and Suffolk County Association, Archery GB (the National Society) and through them, to World Archery.

If you think running an archery club is easy, here is a visual representation of just one of our committee member’s dedication and support for our archery club.

It’s not just about coaching, or getting the bosses out, or changing paper target faces, helping out with your gear, or helping tune your bow.

Each of our committee members plays an active role in making sure our club is of tangible value to our members. From skilfully tending to our field, ensuring its well maintained and kept (by no means a small feat), to ensuring the club has all the right equipment, and enough of it to accommodate a large number of students. Then there’s ensuring range, archer and public safety, compliance, insurance requirements, paperwork, regular updates on Archery GB information, and making lots of arrows!

This is all done, for no pay, in our own time, for the love of our club and for the sport of Archery!
